Transparent. How to call your father after his sex change

Transparent, understood trans-parent, is a television series that grabs you from the first chapter, perhaps because it shows the impact on a family, when the pater and also grandfather, Mr. Pfefferman, comes out. After wandering in the wilderness and gather his courage later, changes his wardrobe and his name, from Mort to Maura, and says here I am. The name change also has its substance, because Maura, pronounced “Moora” could pass as feminine of Mort, as meaning that only changed sex, but still the same person.

Transparent is very exciting, fun, exceptional … But to say that Transparent is about transsexuality is to fall short, because in fact the series is about sexual diversity, and that is why also speaks of transsexuality as one more element, although it focuses the attention and gives the title to the series.

Some define it as comic-drama, but I would define as comic-out-drama. With Transparent you have the opportunity to live an experience of taking the drama out of transsexualism, concentrated in just two syllables: moppa, construction from mom and parent.

Moppa.

It is quite logical to have confusion when your father becomes a sexagenarian woman and call her dad, and after correcting yourself and say mom, but of course, calling Mom not tells the whole story. The eldest daughter solves it calling her moppa the rest of the season.

Cool stories and dialogues, great sense of humor and love, and surprises, surprises all the way. That is Transparent.
